OUR STRATEGY

 

We are conducting pilot projects by identifying declining rural schools. Our strategy consists of 3 steps.

 

STEP 1. The first stage of our projects is to initiate discussion between local authorities, villages and the school staff. At the end of the discussion we establish “school development society-SDS”.  The SDS consists of school staff, village community and the HelpKids Sri Lanka HECS.  In this level we try to build the trust and confidence among the staff and parents as well as students. 

 

STEP 2. In the second step, we further fuel the project by supporting resources and infrastructure which include teacher training program, providing materials such as computers and books, conducting seminars to encourage both staff and local community and events like school competitions. We continuously record the progress of the school. 

 

STEP 3. In the last step, we form a youth club from the school leavers to get support to the school. After completion of the school successfully under the umbrella of HelpKids Sri Lanka HECS, the young school leavers become very active member to further provide their support to the school.
