OUR STORY
One Saturday evening in the spring when we were brain storming about celebration of our daughter Harini’s birthday at our apartment balcony in front of the Stöckacker station, Bern, Switzerland a small perception has come up to pave the way to form HelpKIDS Sri Lanka HECS. Instead of spending around CHF 200.- for the celebration, we have decided to give books and school materials for a poor family (PHOTO). Harini was very happy in the summer to help a poor family in Paradikulama, Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. With the motivation of this small donation we have done our first school project in Hataraswala school in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.
We start to dedicate rest of our time to help poor children in very remote rural villages in Sri Lanka. We have formed HelpKIDS Sri Lanka HECS. HelpKIDS Sri Lanka HECS establishs projects to uphold the education of rural village children. Upholding the education is the only way to build peaceful world. We don’t give Eskimos fish. Instead, we teach them how to fish. We do not just give materials. We stay with the system until we achieve our aims. We get help from lot of volunteers. We welcome donations. Fund raising could also help us to continue our mission.
